Podcast studio in Bangalore: what to check before you book

A podcast studio booking looks simple: a room, some mics, a few cameras. Then you get the footage back and one voice sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom, the second camera was out of focus, and nobody captured a backup.

We run Denzong Studios in Kodihalli, Bengaluru, so this checklist comes from the questions our own clients ask, and the ones they should.

Sound treatment beats equipment

A ₹40,000 microphone in an echoey room loses to a ₹8,000 microphone in a treated one. Ask if the room is actually soundproofed and acoustically treated, or just quiet. Traffic, lifts and air conditioning all leak into recordings. Visit once before booking if you can. Clap your hands in the middle of the room; if you hear a ring, keep looking.

Count the cameras, then ask who operates them

Studios advertise 3-camera setups where two cameras sit locked and unmanned. A static wide shot for two hours is not a camera angle, it is CCTV. Ask whether an operator adjusts frames during the session, and whether the studio provides a crew or just the room. At Denzong Studios, crew and equipment are included in the rate, not add-ons.

Ask about backups before they matter

Lav mics fail. Cards corrupt. The question is not whether the studio has good gear, it is what happens when the gear misbehaves mid-episode. Backup mics on every guest, dual recording, and a second copy of the footage before you leave the building. Any studio that has been running a while has a story about the day this saved a shoot. Ask for theirs.

Get the deliverables and turnaround in writing

Raw footage or edited episode? Delivered same day or next week? Via drive or link? None of these have standard answers across studios, so get yours specified before the advance. Speaking of which: a 40% advance to hold a date is normal in Bangalore. Full payment upfront for a first booking is not.

The half-day trap

A half day sounds like enough until you add setup, mic checks, breaks and a guest who arrives late. A 4-hour slot comfortably fits one strong episode, maybe two short ones. Three is a sprint. Plan your batch honestly and you will stop paying for rushed episodes.
